Sarah E. Goode (c. 1855–1905) was a groundbreaking Black entrepreneur and inventor who became one of the first African American women to receive a U.S. patent for her ingenious folding cabinet bed—a space-saving solution that transformed small urban apartments. Born into slavery and later freed after the Civil War, she built a successful Chicago furniture store with her husband, catering to working-class families in cramped tenements. 📚📕✊🏽 📙 Visit our Black History Book Store - https://rebra
