Managing invasive plant species in the Museum Park requires significant resources and a variety of management tools and methods. This fall, the Museum completed a pilot project that employed 43 🐐 goats 🐐 to manage undesirable plants like poison ivy and Japanese Stiltgrass. The goats efficiently cleared the project area in a week, creating a more welcoming space along Park trails for visitors and leaving only their natural fertilizer behind to improve the soil.
