The Corn Crib was swingin’ on Wednesday! It’s estimated that this large corn crib was built in the 1890s when it was still in agricultural fashion to dry and store feed corn using this method, pre-combine. Corn cribs were designed (originally by Native Americans) with angled and slatted sides that allowed for airflow to dry and store corn and other food. The structures were built on posts, raising them off the ground to protect corn from rodent damage and weather. Corn cribs once dotted the land
