Last week I had one of the most wonderful days I’ve ever had on the Thames. I went to the pub in an 18th century wherry called ‘Rose in June’ and rowed herit back myself! The boat is an exact replica of a wherryman’’s craft c.1780, but the style of the boats hadn’’t changed much in centuries. This one was used in the BBC series Wolf Hall to takerow Anne Boleyn (Claire Foy) to her fate in the Tower.
