This is one of my favorite drywall tricks. I learned this a long time ago. So instead of removing the box and then putting blocking in and getting a piece of sheetrock and then paper taping. Just cut out a square leave the paper facing and then mud it in. Put a couple coats on it of drywall, mud and then make sure you fan it out. Nice and wide. Sand it down and that's it.
