Tesla has confirmed that it is starting production of the new Model Y with a refreshed design at Gigafactory Berlin, but it hasn’t yet opened orders for it. Last week, Tesla unveiled the new Model Y in China and started taking orders in the country and a few other markets that Tesla supplies with its Gigafactory Shanghai.

The updated Model Y is expected to help Tesla to boost its sales momentum in Europe amid a slowdown in consumer demand for electric vehicles.

The new Tesla Model Y ‘Juniper’ will be built in California, Shanghai, Texas, and Berlin. The updated EV takes design inspiration from the Cybertruck and Cybercab lineup. Chinese reports state the updated Model Y has already racked up 50,000 pre-orders.
