Redding police say Michael Amari, a 38-year-old town man, called officers to Limekiln Road on Sunday afternoon after allegedly stabbing his mother in the neck.

Michael Amari called 911 just before 1 p.m., stating that he attacked his mother with a knife at his home on Limekiln Road, according to detectives.
