Some 3,769 Belleville residents voted in the consolidated election, representing nearly 13% of the city’s 29,286 registered voters. But only 2,895 voted for mayor (less than 10%). Eckert received 2,699 votes. Some 196 people submitted names of write-in candidates.

A big focus here in Arlington Heights is a possible move by the Chicago Bears to a proposed new stadium the old Arlington International Racecourse site. Ridler, Schwingbeck, and Tinaglia have all committed to try to get the Bears to the northwest suburb, as long as it benefits the village.
