The Leeward Islands, including the U.S. Virgin Islands, should monitor the progress of a weather system moving across the Atlantic, as the National Hurricane Center (NHC) has given the disturbance — designated Invest 95L — an 80 percent chance of development within 48 hours and a 90 percent chance within seven days.

National Hurricane Center: Invest 95L likely to become tropical depression this week
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) says Invest 95L is likely to become a tropical depression later this week as it moves quickly across the Central Tropical Atlantic.
Will it rain today? Atlantic hurricane season is June 1 to Nov. 30, 2025, with most tropical storm activity between August and October in Florida.
A tropical wave that we’ve been tracking for about a week has now been tagged Invest-95 by the National Hurricane Center. That means that we are now able to run computer models. For now, the system is in the open Atlantic, several hundred miles from the Cabo Verde islands, but is working toward the Caribbean islands.
