Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans voted on Thursday to advance the nomination of Emil Bove, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, to a federal judgeship, over the loud protests of Democrats.

Bove, a former personal lawyer for President Trump, has been accused by a whistleblower of suggesting the feds could say ‘f— you’ to federal judges who rule against Trump.

The rescission package would then return to the House for another vote before it would go to Trump's desk for his signature before a Friday deadline. Having Congress codify the cuts into law would assure that the next administration could reverse them and would help isolate the Trump administration from lawsuits.
