A Delta Airlines pilot accused of sexually abusing a child made his first court appearance Wednesday in Contra Costa County.

Authorities arrested Bhagwagar, a co-pilot with Delta Air Lines, after he touched down Saturday evening at SFO. Powell was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. “Our office stands firmly committed to protecting children and holding those who cause harm accountable,” District Attorney Diana Becton said in a statement Tuesday.

A Delta Air Lines co-pilot was detained by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) officers on allegations of child sexual assault. The spectacular arrest took place at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday night, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
