CBS said it will not fill the “After Midnight” time slot, in the 12:37 a.m. hour following Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” with original programming.

For the past several months, CBS has aired episodes of Byron Allen’s Comics Unleashed in the 12:37 a.m. slot. CBS Studios, Spartina Industries and Funny Or Die are producing After Midnight.

Before being linked to CBS ‘ new late-night series “ After Midnight,” Taylor Tomlinson had little connection to the world of broadcast TV and the ebbs and flow of nocturnal programming.

After Midnight is CBS’ replacement for The Late Late Show, which ended its 28-year run, the last eight with Corden as host, in April 2023.

After Midnight has a new episode for Wednesday, June 4, airing at 12:37 am ET/PT (technically Thursday morning) on CBS. The guests on the June 4 show are Nori Reed, Dave Thomason and Caroline Ulwick.

CBS says it won’t replace After Midnight with new programming in the 12:35 a.m. slot next season. Whether the network keeps that hour or returns it to local stations hasn’t been determined yet.
