The Monterey Bay Aquarium has raised an astounding $2.2 million for its sea otter program, thanks to a surprise boost from global pop star Taylor Swift.

MONTEREY — From touching up paint jobs before opening for the day to caring for the animals and doing repair work when things do go wrong, there’s always work to be done at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The aquarium reissued the T-shirt worn by Swift ahead of a new campaign to raise awareness about otter habitat restoration.
