Like his salary, Brian Kelly's buyout is among the top-10 biggest in college football. According to USA TODAY Sports' database of college coaches' salaries, LSU would owe Kelly $53,293,333, as of December 1, 2025, if the Tigers fired him without cause.
Brian Kelly became one of the highest-paid coaches in college football in 2021. The 10-year, $95 million deal came when the school initially hired him to be in Baton Rouge. Since then, he has a 34-13 record overall, including 19-9 in SEC play.
