State leaders fast-tracked plans by Elon Musk’s company for a tunnel to Nashville’s airport, ignoring the city’s concerns.

In his most detailed comments to date about The Boring Company's underground tunnel project in, Mayor Freddie O'Connell said he's known of the company's interest for about a year.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee says the Nashville tunnels will come at “zero cost” to taxpayers, and will instead be “entirely privately funded” by The Boring Company and its partners. Once completed, the “Tesla in tunnels” system will ferry people from the airport to downtown in around eight minutes.
