Jack Flaherty was better than good in his start in Game 3 of the Tigers' Wild Card series against Cleveland. He lasted only 4.2 innings but allowed just one run on three hits. In five September starts, Logan Gilbert never allowed more than two runs and pitched at least five innings in four of those five outings.

Julio Rodriguez came up huge for the Mariners, and in the process, he extended a postseason streak that's reaching historic levels.

While the Tigers’ backs have been against the wall, the Mariners have been waiting patiently for their first postseason appearance since 2022. They are seeking to advance past the ALDS for the first time since 2001 and are chasing their first pennant in franchise history.
