Restaurant chain Hooters is set to file for bankruptcy later this year after being riddle with debt and a lack of footfall which has seen more than 40 sites shut since last June

Hooters of America is reportedly working with creditors on a plan to restructure the business through bankruptcy court. Sources told Bloomberg that they expect the bankruptcy process to formally begin in the next few months.

Hooters of America is reportedly working with its creditors on restructuring its business via bankruptcy, according to a new report in Bloomberg. According to the report — which cites sources with knowledge of the proceedings — Hooters is working with the Ropes & Gray law firm to prepare a filing.

Hooters, famous for its hot wings and, well, “scenic views,” is reportedly gearing up to file for bankruptcy. It’s yet another American restaurant chain finding itself in hot financial water in recent months.
