A secret military payload has reached orbit aboard an Atlas V rocket, which launched Tuesday from Florida on a classified U.S. Space Force mission.

United Launch Alliance (ULA) launched an Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 this morning at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida as part of the classified USSF-51 mission.

Atlas V fully fueled ahead of liftoff: 8:00 a.m. EDT: Fueling of the Atlas V booster and Centaur V upper stage is now complete. According to ULA the rocket now weighs 1,292,221 pounds.

ULA’s next launch is the Atlas V NROL-36 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office planned for Sept. 13 from Space Launch Complex-3 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
