With heavy rain bringing the risk of dangerous debris flows, the Los Angeles Fire Department has announced evacuation warnings — and mandatory evacuation orders for some specific addresses — in areas recently burned by wildfires.

For the second time this year, Southern Californians are evacuating their homes as heavy rain threatens new destruction in places still recovering from last month’s devastating wildfires.

A destructive storm is making its way out of Southern California Friday, but not before flooding streets, neighborhoods and freeways, causing crashes and congestion, and leading to evacuation orders in recent burn areas.

As a powerful storm slammed into Southern California, mudslides were triggered across the region, especially in the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire burn scars. Other areas across Los Angeles and Orange County saw flash flooding.
