In 2006, electric utility Minnesota Power published the Pyramid of Energy Conservation, which recommended the order of what you should do when making a plan to upgrade your home for energy efficiency.

If one had observed the pyramid around the time its construction was completed, the sides would have looked much more smoothly tiled—more like a brick wall than a series of steps.
