A daring daylight heist at Paris’s Louvre Museum saw thieves steal priceless jewels, forcing the museum to close as police investigate.

The 65-person group was just a few feet away from the Apollo gallery where the thieves used a bucket lift and a circular saw to break through the window.

There was chaos inside the world-famous Louvre museum as panic-stricken tourists raced for the exits. Robbers disguised as construction workers pulled off what's being called the “Heist of the Century.

In a matter of minutes, thieves climbed a ladder and smashed display cases before fleeing the scene with eight valuable artifacts. The jewels had been housed just 270 yards from the "Mona Lisa"
