The Louvre in Paris closed on Sunday after masked thieves made off with jewels just after the museum had opened.

There has been a robbery at the famous Louvre museum in central Paris, according to the French culture minister.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said three of four thieves had used the furniture hoist to steal "priceless" goods from the museum's "Gallerie d'Apollon" ("Apollo's Gallery").
