Good Night and Good Luck achieved the new record with an average ticket price of $302.07 and capacity of 101 percent at the Winter Garden Theater. The play, which sees Clooney play the journalist Edward R. Murrow as he takes aim at Senator Joseph McCarthy, broke the record during its second week of previews and is scheduled to open April 3.

For the week ending March 23, the 33 currently running productions grossed $41,206,933.
