Minnesota state officials warned the bill would cut $500 million a year in reimbursements for hospital and nursing home coverage.

The bill is expected to affect the personal finances of millions of everyday Americans, but not all of the provisions will roll out at the same time.

Gov. Tim Walz focused his ire on Minnesota's Republican delegation in Congress, accusing Reps. Emmer, Finstad, Fischbach and Stauber of "voting to raise Minnesotans' household energy bills by 28% so Trump can give tax cuts to billionaires."

The tax and spending package includes $66.4 billion in new money for programs assisting farmers, strengthening the safety net if there is significant volatility in crop prices and revenues.

Some DFL members had expressed during the regular session that they could return to the capitol for a special session to deal with any fallout from the bill.
