The ballpark opened in 2014 and cost the city $99 million to build. Mesa is the only city in the Valley with two spring training facilities in its boundaries. Mesa said it is in talks with the Athletics, which trains at Fitch Park and holds its exhibition games at Hohokam Stadium, for a full scope of the scheduled improvements.
