The Seattle Kraken have placed goaltender Philipp Grubauer, one of the team's highest earners, on waivers with the purpose of being assigned to the AHL, the team announced Wednesday.

SEATTLE (AP) — Mason McTavish scored the tying goal early in the second period and assisted on Robby Fabbri’s go-ahead goal 4:35 later, sending the Anaheim Ducks to a 6-4 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday night.

The Seattle Kraken have placed goaltender Philipp Grubauer on waivers. The 33-year-old netminder had another difficult outing last night, allowing five goals on 22 shots. He now has a 5-15-1 record with a .866 SV% and a 3.83 GAA. Both stats are the worst of his career.

Grubauer will protect the home goal versus the Ducks on Tuesday, Alison Lukan of the Kraken Hockey Network reports. Unsurprisingly, Grubauer will get the second half of a back-to-back after Joey Daccord was in net for a 4-2 loss to the Oilers on Monday.

Grubauer was placed on waivers Wednesday for the purpose of reassignment to AHL Coachella Valley. Grubauer is currently mired in a six-game losing streak for the Kraken, going 0-5-1 with a 4.73 GAA. The netminder went seven games without making an appearance during his slump and was disappointing when he finally got another look.
