Bridget Jones was one of the best-known single ladies of both book and film, but her inability to get her life together is the biggest part of her charm. Based loosely on Pride and Prejudice, Bridget falls in love with the wrong man while the haughty right man is just under her nose. Luckily, she works it out in the end.
