Family and friends of Christopher Tran, the man who died last week in a fire at a commercial building in San Jose, gathered Monday to honor him and demand justice.

SAN JOSE — Firefighters responded to multiple fires south of the San Jose Mineta International Airport on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The blazes were reported at 4:21 p.m., and forward progress was stopped at 5:08 p.m., according to a social media post from the San Jose Fire Department. The fires received a tier one response.

First responders were unable to safely search the burning building on Sunday, but police said there were "multiple indicators" that a victim was inside.
