LSU junior right-handed pitcher Jacob Mayers has been selected by the Boston Red Sox with the No. 268 overall pick in the ninth round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Mayers transferred to LSU from Nicholls State last summer and posted a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings. He struck out 36.1% of the batters he faced but also walked nearly 28% of the hitters he saw.
