Justin Bieber’s newest album is his first release after parting ways with his former manager, Scooter Braun, who discovered the singer on YouTube in 2007.

Generally well-received, Swag has been praised by listeners as “ mature ” and “ authentic ,” with one fan account calling the album his “declaration of independence.” Bieber’s label, Def Jam, announced on Saturday that the album had reached the top spot on both the global and U.S. Apple Music and Spotify album charts.

According to so-called insiders, Bieber agreed to repay Braun $26 million from a $40 million advance the singer had received from AEG back in 2022. That advance was part of a global tour deal that ultimately never took place due to Bieber’s health issues.
