Clemson baseball broke a four-game losing streak on May 4 but then lost a 20-9 blowout to Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla.

Clemson’s comeback attempt fell short Sunday as No. 5 Florida State poured it on early and late, dealing the third-ranked Tigers a 20-9 run-rule loss in Tallahassee. The Seminoles jumped out to a commanding 10-0 lead by the third inning and finished the game with a walk-off homer in the eighth to hand Clemson its second straight series loss and sixth defeat in eight games.

Florida State, for the second straight game, surged out to a lead against Clemson. And despite leading 10-0, there was a bit of nervousness that once again a lead would be blown as the Tigers clawed back to make it just a two-run game.
