Avelo announced July 14 it will close its base at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) this year and discontinue many flights serving West Coast airports, including Eugene and Salem. Currently, the airline flies three times a week between Burbank and Eugene.

Just days after Avelo Airlines announced it would be closing its base at the Hollywood Burbank Airport and ceasing operations on the West Coast, another budget airline announced it will take over many of Avelo’s abandoned routes.

While Avelo will no longer serve the western US, the airline will continue to serve what Goff called an east coast network of over 40 cities both domestic and international that will extend from Manchester, New Hampshire in the northeast to the Dominican Republic and Cancun to the south and as far west as Dallas and Chicago.
