A severe storm system that produced tornadoes in Oklahoma is moving toward Ohio. The storm is expected to bring damaging winds and heavy rain to Ohio on Thursday evening. The system is predicted to weaken as it moves eastward across the state overnight.
The Laurel tornado, as seen on video at AGUP, has been ranked an EF-0. It reached max winds of 75 mph and traveled .3 miles. NWS determined that a tornado touched down in Jasper County and crossed into Clarke County. It has been rated an EF-1 with maximum winds of 105 mph and traveled 9.1 miles.
An EF-2 tornado with winds of up to 120 miles per hour hit central Illinois on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
