Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis and Nolan Smith have established themselves as leaders on the No. 1-ranked defense in the NFL last season -- and all four have been drafted over the last three seasons. There have been other Georgia players from the 2020 to 2022 Georgia defense to join the Eagles since then, the latest being Azeez Ojulari .

The situations vary as some players are on the downside of their careers, or coming off an injury-filled season, or haven't had a chance to prove themselves just yet. So a one-year contract in free agency was all they were going to get.

The Philadelphia Eagles made an out-of-character move earlier this month when they re-signed off-the-ball linebacker, Zack Baun, to a 3 year, $51 million deal. Admittedly, Baun had an All-Pro season and was even a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year this past season.
