Disney in late October pulled ESPN, ABC and other programming from YouTube TV after the sides failed to reach a distribution deal. The new agreement is a "multi-year" deal, Disney said.
“We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal with Disney to bring their content back to YouTube TV,” the company posted on X. “Subscribers should see channels including ABC, ESPN, and FX returning to their service over the course of the day.”
Disney and YouTube TV struck a new agreement Friday to restore channels such as ABC and ESPN to the Google-owned streaming service.
Disney warns its dispute with YouTube TV may drag on, leaving subscribers without major channels as the blackout grows costlier for both viewers and the company.
Fans can take a deep breath as they won’t miss another full football weekend due to the contentious dispute, which led to plenty of public criticism. YouTube TV offered customers a $20 credit as the disagreement went on, which caused fans to be without high-profile broadcasts for an extended period of time.
YouTube said Disney used the threat of a blackout as a negotiating tactic that would have resulted in higher prices for its subscribers.
