Seattle Mariners' Josh Naylor does not travel to Detroit over personal matter
Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor did not travel with the team to Detroit, with his status up in the air for games 3 and 4 of the ALDS series.
Naylor's loss, while absolutely understandable, is a tough one for this team. He could rejoin the Ms at any moment, but the team has to prepare as if he's not.
The Seattle Mariners will host watch parties at T-Mobile Park for games 3 and 4 of the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers.
All the way over on the west coast, the Mariners picked up a much-needed 3-2 win against the Tigers, with Jorge Polanco and Julio Rodríguez each playing hero. Polanco hit two solo home runs off of Detroit ace Tarik Skubal, then Rodríguez delivered the go-ahead double in the bottom of the eighth inning.
AJ Hinch said sluggish offense is a product of some really good playoff pitching, and the Tigers not exercising the best pitch selection.
