Yastrzemski, 34, spent six years in the Baltimore Orioles’ farm system before being traded to the Giants in March 2019. Despite making his debut at 28, Yastrzemski established himself as a mainstay in San Francisco’s outfield and played 790 games over seven major-league seasons. During that time, he hit 114 home runs and posted a .768 OPS.

San Francisco traded former All-Star closer Camilo Doval to the New York Yankees, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported. The Giants will acquire infielders Jesús Rodríguez, Parks Harber, right-handed pitcher Trystan Vrieling and left-handed pitcher Carlos De La Rosa, YES Network’s Jack Curry reported.

To beef up their bullpen, the Yankees acquired Giants reliever Camilo Doval just shortly before the 6 p.m. deadline. To complete the trade, the Yankees sent San Francisco four minor league prospects: catcher Jesús Rodríguez, right-handed pitcher Trystan Vrieling, infielder Parks Harber and lefty Carlos de la Rosa.
