In a bit of a surprise move, the Los Angeles Angels are breaking camp with right-handed pitcher Ryan Johnson. There are two major items of note here on Johnson. First off, he hasn't played a single game in the minors.

Los Angeles Angels reliever Ryan Johnson has made his professional debut, becoming the 24th player to go from the amateur draft to the major leagues without playing in the minors.

Johnson, the Angels' 2024 second-round compensatory pick, will be the third MLB player in the past two decades to go straight to the major leagues.
