The Penguins signed Brazeau to a two-year deal this summer. The former Bruins forward spent parts of two seasons with in Boston after he signed an AHL contract with Providence in 2021. Brazeau made his NHL debut during the 2023-24 season and had seven points in 19 games.
Malkin created the play off a face-off that led to Justin Brazeau giving the Penguins a 1-0 lead at 19:28 of the first period. He lost the face-off to Vincent Trocheck perhaps on purpose so he can push forward, turn and shield the puck with his body and find Brazeau open in front of the net.
And by the end of Tuesday night, the NHL had its first multi-goal scorer of the season. His name: Justin Brazeau. Yes, it's an incredibly unlikely reality. Brazeau is a journeyman who scored 11 goals across 76 games between the Bruins and Wild last season.
