Testimony will continue Wednesday in the trial for a Democratic Minnesota state senator accused of burglarizing her stepmother's Detroit Lakes home.

Prosecutors presented text messages from Carol Mitchell to her niece Pamela Muxfeldt, in which she voiced concerns about Rod Mitchell’s estate, saying, “I am scared. She has gotten so greedy,” in reference to Nicole Mitchell.

Attorneys for the state of Minnesota and for Sen. Nicole Mitchell each outlined their positions in opening arguments for the trial Tuesday morning, July 15.
