The Miami Hurricanes have been focused on winning a national championship; however, their focus has also caused them not look at the transfer portal like other schools around the country.
The Miami Hurricanes are on a generational run, even if you take the natty element off the shelves. In less than 24 hours, South Beach became the favorite to land pretty much all of the best available players at key positions.
Although UM has been busy with the College Football Playoffs, it has been active on the transfer recruiting trail, as well, as the Miami staff looks to build its roster for the 2026 season. Here is a look at the players who have committed to the Hurricanes this offseason:
Former FSU and Plantation American Heritage kicker Jake Weinberg, who was the nation’s No. 2 rated kicker in the 2024 class, visited the UM campus on Thursday and is expected to sign with the Canes. He will compete to replace Carter Davis.
Simpson, the former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback, was a high-priority target for the Hurricanes but officially filed his NFL draft paperwork despite fielding record-breaking offers from Miami and the Ole Miss Rebels. Simpson threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns this past season, leading the Crimson Tide to the CFP quarterfinals.
Both the Hurricanes and Hoosiers have benefitted from high-level transfers that blend with the strong high school recruits they have signed.
The Hurricanes, in the midst of preparing for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, have landed their first transfer portal commitment of the 2026 cycle.
