President Trump is pushing through with his tariff agenda, unveiling a new batch of letters to country leaders outlining tariffs on goods imported from their countries beginning in August and a warning to BRICS nations.

BRUSSELS, July 13 (Reuters) - The EU will extend its suspension of countermeasures to U.S. tariffs until early August as it aims for a negotiated solution on trade with the United States, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday.

President Donald Trump on Saturday announced he’s levying tariffs of 30% against the European Union and Mexico starting Aug. 1, a move that could cause massive upheaval between the United States and two of its biggest trade partners.

After months of seeing very little inflation, US consumers probably experienced slightly faster price growth in June as companies started to pass along the higher cost of imported merchandise associated with tariffs.

A preliminary agreement to ease the tariff dispute with the US is considered imminent, but the EU is concerned about the negotiations of a comprehensive deal and the transatlantic relationship that will follow.
